Creamy Cheese Ice Cream
Serves 4
Ingredients
- 6 egg yolks
- 3 oz castor sugar
- 9 fl oz milk
- 9 fl oz cream
- 1/4 oz salt
- 2 oz Butlers Farmhouse Creamy Lancashire Cheese - grated
Method
- Cream egg yolks, sugar and salt until pale white
- Combine milk and cream and bring to the boil
- Simmer for 3 minutes then leave to cool for 30 seconds
- Add to egg mix and stir thoroughly
- Over a low heat continue stirring until mixture coats the back of a spoon
- Churn in an ice cream machine adding cheese towards the end
- Chill and serve with baked apple
