24 May 2010
Hi. After quite a bit of spring cleaning at Butlers, we unveil our official new logo (seen at the top of this email to you) – hope you like it!
A BIG thank you...
...for all of your help with feedback on our new packaging for Blacksticks. Delighted by just how many of you like the new presentation, we’re introducing it as soon as possible – starting with Blacksticks Blue in the next week or so. We can’t wait!

Having read your comments, we’ve changed a few things too. Some were worried that we were increasing the amount of packaging, but we have now cut the recyclable sleeves smaller and reduced the thickness of the cardboard. We’ve also chosen some stronger colours for the rest of the Blacksticks range and we should be able to show you this next month.
And the lucky winners are…
We promised to send some cheese to three of you that gave us feedback and have selected the following winners at random. Many congratulations and we will be in touch shortly.

Diana Coke Cathy Lennon Barbara Edwards

We would have loved to send cheese to ALL respondents but if we did that we would be bankrupt!
Tom Butler 1934 – 2010
Very sadly, Tom Butler passed away peacefully at home on 23 April, aged 76. One of Richard and Annie’s four sons, Tom married Jean and they both played a significant part in developing the family dairy for many years. Gillian, who plays a very active role in the management of Butlers today, is one of Tom and Jean’s five children. Others remain actively involved in the local farms that supply the dairy.

With a tremendous Lancashire character and great northern humour, Tom remained passionate about farming and cheesemaking throughout his life, latterly being involved in the rearing of heifers on Throstle Nest farm with Jean. The Butler family will miss him greatly as will many in the local community.
Blue Skies smile on first ever Blacksticks Blue 10km run

219 runners took to the roads around Beacon Fell near Inglewhite dairy on Sunday May 9 in the first ever Blacksticks Blue 10K road race, raising funds for our local school and community. The event was a huge success and we hope the first of many Blacksticks Blue 10K’s in the future. Joining serious competitors from local running clubs were many from the local community and of course from the dairy - all receiving a commemorative wedge of Blacksticks Blue!

New cheeses are on the way…
Bronwen and her creative team remain very busy at Butlers They just wanted to let you know that they are hoping to launch some new delicious cheeses in the coming months. Rest assured as a loyal supporter of Butlers you will be one of the first to know.
